How to Keep Your Garden Bee-Friendly

Happy National Bee Day!  Wondering how you can do your part to help our favorite pollinators? Read on to learn how to plant a bee-friendly garden.

Let Go of the Green

Trade some of that lush, green grass for flowering plants.  Bees are in need of more inventory on which to feed.

Three to a Season

To provide a consistent feeding source, you should plan at least three different types of flowers in your garden that bloom at different times of the season.

What to Plant

What are bees attracted to? So many options!

If you’re looking to start an herb garden AND help the bees, plant some of these:

  • Basil
  • Lavender
  • Mint
  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Thyme

Other flowers that bees appreciate include:

  • Aster
  • Borage
  • Four o’clock
  • Geranium
  • Goldenrod
  • Lupine
  • Sunflower
  • Wild rose
